Master Program in Islamic Studies - EMI
Number of Credits: 39 (30 Credit Hours Course Work 9 Credit Hours Dissertation)
Passing grade: Minimum 80 (B-)
The total cost of the Masters Program is approximately $13,000.00: excludes Equalization fees, text books & Comprehensive Exams for transferring students.
The Masters Program will offer advanced learning in Islamic Studies as well as offer more specialized degree Programs in which students can utilize their Islamic knowledge in conjunction with their other chosen field of studies.
To be considered for entry into our Masters Program, please send the Department the following requirements:
-submit a copy of your High School transcript or have your High School send it to us directly (American Open University 4212 King Street Alexandria, VA 22302 ATTN Graduate Dept)
-submit official Transcript (have your present University directly send AOU your official transcript)
-send copy of both your High School Diploma & most recent Diploma
-send copy of photo ID
-submit a 1- 2 page written essay that highlights your most rewarding achievements & why you chose this achievement or you may choose to make a 5-7 minute video focusing on this subject
-submit 3 recommendation letters (2 Academic & 1 Professional or 1 Community leader)
-pay $75.00 application fee (non-refundable)
-pay admissions fee $208.00 (nonrefundable)
-If transferring credits from another University pay equalization fee $187.00 (nonrefundable)
(please note any student that does not hold a Bachelors Degree in Islamic Studies must pay & take 5 comprehensive exams (both oral & written) to see if you qualify for direct entry into the Masters Program or if you need to take some courses in the Bachelors Program first)
