1. Guidelines for writing s Master's Thesis

A thesis is original, independent research presented in the form of a scholarly document that has the potential to be published in a professional journal. A thesis is an unbiased examination of a research hypothesis followed by analysis and presentation of conclusions. The thesis will include a complete bibliography and documentation of source material within the text. A thesis is focused on issues of significance to the field(s) of interest chosen by the student. Academic research involves posing a question or hypothesis and using appropriate methodology to prove or disprove the proposed hypothesis.

Writing a detailed thesis proposal is the key to successful and timely completion of work.

The thesis proposal should include the following:

A detailed description of the research problem or hypothesis to be addressed in a thesis, including an explanation of the appropriate methodology to be used

A substantial, preliminary literature review of the current and past research related to the chosen topic, and the additional sources to be examined and presented in the final thesis

A detailed explanation of the reasons for choosing the topic and how it relates to the student’s philosophical education

The proposal is generally 5-15 pages, including:

    cover sheet

    table of contents

brief explanation of the elements of the thesis

rationale for the study; the purpose of doing the research

literature review of the research related to your topic

    research question/hypothesis

methodology section explaining how your research will be carried out (this will include the systematic collection of evidence and evidence)

    annotated bibliography

Guidelines for Writing a Master's thesis

Writing an overview of your project is designed not only to formally announce your intentions as far as your Master’s thesis goes, but also to help you become more fluent in and informed about the topic for your project. 7-8 double-spaced pages should probably be enough.

Broken into fully developed sections, each with a heading, this overview should include:

    1. Introduction.

Introduces the topic in broad terms.

States how you came to be interested in the topic.

Briefly summarizes the context and significance of the project.

Creates reader interest in the project.

    2. Statement of problem or question.

Frames the problem or question that your thesis will be addressing.

The problem is an issue that arises out of the scholarly literature, theory, or practice that

    necessitates further study.

Answers, plainly and clearly, the question “why does this research need to be conducted?”

    3. Literature review.

Relates the proposed project to specific questions and areas of inquiry within the field.

Situates the project within the “conversation” of a field. Who in the field would be interested in

    reading your thesis?

Explains how your project will extend, revise, or complicate what is already known.

For a proposal, the literature review should be relatively brief, and should cite/incorporate only

the most appropriate sources for establishing the work that’s been done on the subject.

    4. Statement of overall purpose.

Should include a statement that begins “The purpose of this study is…”

Provides a clear and succinct synopsis of the project.

Identifies and defines the central concepts of the study.

    Identifies the method of study.

    5. Chapter overviews.

Includes titles, indicates what question you plan to answer and why this particular site is the best one to answer this question.

    6. Explanation of limitations.

What is your project not addressing and why?

What are some of the weaknesses of your approach to the topic?

    7. Statement of project’s significance.

What specifically will this project contribute to the field? How will it address the questions or gaps in scholarship that you identified in your literature review? Why is it important to do?

***Your Thesis should add something new to the reader as you are presenting your own identity into this research. (This is an absolute must!)

    8. Work plan

    9. Bibliography:

  1. BREAKDOWN OF COST OF THESIS
  2. Student sends his/her Thesis plan to American Open University for approval. $260.00

Plan has to include topic of thesis, why you chose this topic, make sure no one has written this before, explain process in which you will write the paper and the references you will use. if it approved you now get your supervisor and 2 members which must be approved by Dr. Hajjaj by sending him their resumes and qualifications.

  1. Confer with a discussion panel of 3 main advising instructors (1 main supervisor and 2 instructors). $3120.00 (1,560.00 for main supervisor and 780.00 for each instructor). Find a supervisor to help you get ready for the final defending of your Thesis and then when the supervisor feels you are ready then you will defend your Thesis among your supervisor and 2 qualified instructors.
  2. Thesis Research. $1560.00
  3. Processing Fee: $156.00

The Thesis needs to be bonded following the standards of American Universities.

Total Cost of Thesis: $5096.00

Diploma will be awarded after payment of the diploma fee.
