Masters in Islamic Finance-EMIF

Master Program   in    Islamic Finance:

42 total credit hours     (36 hours coursework & 6 credit hours Thesis research)  

Passing Grade: 80 (B-) Minimum

 

EMIF Program requires the student to successfully pass 36 credit hours of coursework

 

The student must take 2 highly intense Comprehensive Exams after successfully completing all 36 hours of coursework which will assess his/her knowledge & comprehension of all material in this program.

 

If the student passes these comprehensive exams then the student can begin working on his/her Thesis which is 6 credit hours.

After the student successfully defends his/her thesis, the student will then be entitled to earn his/her Master’s Degree in Islamic Finance.



This program is designed to empower the student to identify and draw conclusive lines of various financial transactions based on Islamic Laws vs Commercial Laws.

To be considered for entry into the Master Program in Islamic Finance:

-Submit a copy of your High School transcript or have your High School send it to us directly (American Open University 4212 King Street Alexandria, VA 22302 ATTN Graduate Dept)

-Submit official Transcript (have your present University directly send AOU your official transcript- see address above)

-Send copy of both your High School Diploma & most recent Diploma

-Send copy of photo ID

-Submit a 2 page essay highlighting why you chose this Degree path & your aspirations after graduation

-Submit 3 recommendation letters; 2 Academic and 1 Professional or 1 Community Leader

-Pay application fee $75.00 (non-refundable)

-Pay admissions fee $208.00 (nonrefundable)

-If transferring credits from another University pay equalization fee $187.00 (nonrefundable)

(Please note that if you do not hold a Bachelors Degree in Islamic Finance then you must pay and take the admissions exam to see if you qualify for direct entry into the Masters Program)
