§ Most Muslim-majority countries incorporate Sharia law in their legal framework.
§ Some designate it as the highest law of the country or the main source of law and the basis for their constitutions.
§ Most Muslims use Sharia family law on marriage, divorce, child support, and inheritance.
§ Most Western and non-Muslim majority countries allow their Muslim citizens and residents to apply Sharia law for matters concerning family law cases where the parties concerned agree to be governed by Islamic law and principles.
