Course Outline:
This class will cover:
- The background and basic of inheritance, the principles of and evidences for inheritance, the causes of inheritance, the beneficiaries of an estate, and the impediments to inheritance.
- Heirs with fixed shares: groups A & B, the number of inheritors and their shares.
- Asabah, zawu 'l-arham and hajb.
- The numerics of inheritance law: awd, raddiyyah, the relationships among the numbers andal-tashih.
- Miscellaneous: creditors, takharus, muqasamah, munasakhah, hermaphrodites, fetuses, lost persons, apostates, captives, and the ones who died together.
