Fiqh of Contemporary Events

Course Outline:
This class will be divided into three units:
Unit One will cover the status of credit cards, the contemporary application of zakat, zakat on currency, zakat on unlawful money, zakat on banknotes and bonds, zakat on debts, zakat on rental income, the recipients of zakat, riba in non-Islamic countries, house financing and loans, contracts changing from renting to ownership of properties.
Unit Two will also look at contraception and abortion in Islam, and
Unit Three will look at the rules of undergoing surgery for beautification, and artificial insemination and test tube babies.
